This year’s Turkey Olympics took place on November 26th in the gym. The Event was both chaotic and vibrant. There were many events that took place, including a dance off, rolly-chair race, turkey shot put, three legged race, donut-on-a-string, pie eating contest, hungry hungry hippies, and turkey says.
The seniors showed their dominance by taking 1st place overall. While the juniors won 2nd, and the 8th graders won 3rd. Basheer Hadi (12th grade) won the pie eating contest, Audrey and Julia Miller (7th grade) won the dance off, and the three-legged race and the loudest grace was once again won by the seniors. It seems as if the seniors win every year, but who knows!
Tug of war was another event that took place during the Turkey Olympics. Each grade participated, but not everyone showed up to support their grade. When it came time for the ninth graders to compete against the eighth graders, only two students showed, so the teachers had to help out. Unfortunately, the ninth graders did not win. Seventh grade won against sixth grade, the eleventh graders narrowly beat the tenth graders, and the seniors won against faculty.
Everyone had a wonderful time at this year’s Turkey Olympics. Many people had smiles on their faces during each competition. Hopefully, next year will be just as fun!
