When H-B came back from spring break, they came back to a surprise. The new field is finally open! It really made coming back from spring break a little bit easier.
This field has been in the works for a long time and includes a parking garage underneath for staff. Graham McBride, Vice Principal of H-B, said “[the field] has been in progress for two and a half years and was in the original design for the building”.
One issue is that the H-B frisbee team can’t play tournaments on the new field. Celia, a 7th grader and frisbee player said “H-B’s only sport that they do is frisbee and the fact that the field doesn’t accommodate for that is really annoying”.
PE classes are starting to take place on the field and during I-block and lunch, other sports are being played. The atrium stairs at the end of the field are also a perfect place to eat lunch and relax during I-block.
Students and Staff are overall very pleased with the new field.
