On Wednesday April 2nd, The Bowie State Dancers came to our school.
Bowie State University is a Historically Black University or HBCU. Bowie State University is in Maryland and was Maryland’s first HBCU. The dancers came during Long TA on Wednesday.
They performed a couple of dances and the head coach got some representatives from each grade to do a dance-off. The grades that participated were 6th and 7th. The students from 6th grade were, Abe, London, and Mary Kate, andhe students from 7th grade were Maya and Tomo.
After this, the dancers came for a group photo and gave prizes to the dance-off students. It is great that H-B has a lot of opportunities to show students different cultures with our equity blocks and field trips.
