Lunch is more than just a break to eat for H-B students, it is an experience. Either if it’s students waiting for pizza bites or students playing their favorite sport in the gym, you can tell it’s more than a meal. It’s a time to catch up with friends about classes or many other things. The excitement on people’s favorite lunch meals is also easily viewable with the lines usually going all the way to Graham’s office!
I was curious about which lunch meal was the favorite of HBW students so I did this survey to find out. My prediction at the start was that pizza bites would be the fan favorite because the line is always the longest when they are serving pizza bites. Students always seem to be saying they love pizza bites because of the cheesy bread with the tomato sauce on the side.
Favorite lunch meal
In terms of favorite lunch, pizza bites got the most votes. As I predicted, students like the drippy cheese pizza bites with the tomato sauce. This was not surprising since pizza is one of the most popular food in America. The chicken tenders, dumplings, and chicken quesadillas came in tied for last, with each getting 4% of the responses.
Times per week getting lunch
Of the 25 respondents, 44% get lunch 5 times per week and 20% said that they never or rarely get lunch. As you can see from the chart, most people either get lunch every day or don’t get school lunch at all.
Grade level of respondents
36% of people that replied to the server are 8th graders and 28% of the responders were in 7th grade. The high schoolers had the least responses with only 4 people out of the 25 respondents being in high school. We also need to keep in account that the high schoolers don’t respond to many surveys with there being so many posted at school all the time.
Top three favorite lunch meals
The top two most votes for top three favorite meals were pizza bites and the chicken sandwich both getting 12 votes. With the hot dog getting no votes even for the top three favorites which leads me to say that the hot dog is probably the least liked meal for HBW students.
Overall, it’s clear I was right that pizza bites are the most preferred lunch by HB students. With the survey showing how much people like them, maybe teachers will start to understand why students want to leave class early to beat the lunch line.
