February is Black History Month, and here at H-B we have a lot of activities going on throughout the month. One activity that goes on every year is our Black History Month Homecoming show! This event has been going on for a while and is always a fan favorite. Every year, seats fill up in a flash. Everyone always wants to see what our students here at H-B have put together. Students in the show, as well as the audience range from 6th to 12th grade.
Students have been preparing for this event for a while, rehearsing after school and making sure they remember everything. Bryony, is a 10th grader here at H-B and is a part of the show. She said that they would rehearse after school until 5:00 or sometimes 6:30 at night. Bryony also mentioned that she worked on the show by herself for around one hour to prepare and memorize all her lines.
The show took place on February 27th and was a major hit. The theme this year was all about HBCUs (Historically Black Colleges and Universities). Every seat was filled, and everyone had a great time watching. There was a lot of music and dancing happening throughout the performance.
Hopefully you got to see the amazing show this year, and come back next year to see another amazing show that our students put together!
