Review of “Percy Jackson and the Olympians” Season 2

“Percy Jackson and the Olympians” has proven itself to be quite a popular show with kids and teens, so The H-B Current has a new television review for you.

“Percy Jackson” has risen in popularity since 2023, when the first season of the T.V. show came out on Disney+ and Hulu. The first two episodes of the second season came out on December 10, and for many viewers, the show was love at first sight.

A lot of new characters were added, including Tyson, Percy’s half-brother who is part cyclops and part demigod.

Grover gets kidnapped by a sea monster and is taken to Polyphemus’s island. So against new camp director Tantulus’ orders, Percy, Annabeth, and Tyson go into the Sea of Monsters to save him.

The quest is originally given to Clarisse to find the Golden Fleece and stop Luke (and the other Kronos followers) from making Thalia’s tree die, while dealing with monsters.

Clarice and Percy’s team come together to defeat the Sea of Monsters and save Grover. Along the way, the team learns about the “Great Prophecy” that says a Big Three kid (a child of either Zeus, Poseidon, or Hades) will decide if Olympus lives or dies.

This season so far includes lots of highs, lows, and new characters, making it super intense but also very funny with Tyson around.

Our Review/Finale prediction

We have been pretty into this show so far, and we’re also quite impressed with the plot and writing of the show. However, there were some aspects that we didn’t love about it. WARNING: SPOILERS AHEAD!!!

Parts we liked

We love Tyson’s cyclops eye. It is so well done, and it adds to the realism of the story.
When Percy is turning back into a human from a hamster, it appears very magical, which is perfect for the setting (S2 ep. 5, we check into C.C’s Spa and Resort)
When Percy and Annabeth go into C.C’s office to look in the mirror of truth to find their fatal flaw, all the flashbacks seem very real. (S2 ep. 5, We check into C.C’s Spa and Resort)
Polephemus’ cave is very well planned out, all the way to the entrance, a hole that you fall into.

Predictions

There is only one more episode of the show that we haven’t yet watched. Here are our predictions.

They save Thalia’s tree and she comes back in human
form
Kronos awakens and they have to fight him
Chiron comes back, and Clarisse and Percy become friends
Sally adopts Tyson and they become a real family
