Society loves to promote teenagers and adults starting their mornings quite early. Social media is filled with 5 a.m. morning routines and claims that the mornings are the best time to be productive and achieve success.
While this can be true, health is also an important factor that should be considered. A regular sleep schedule, as well as when you wake up, should be consistent. Switching sleep schedules can often lead to unhealthy habits. It can also negatively affect someone’s mental and physical health, as well as cause confusion.
In my opinion, the best time to wake up is between 6 or 7 a.m for H-B students. Unlike other schools, H-B has a unique type of schedule, starting at 9 a.m. Most high schools start earlier, with their students having to wake up at much earlier times.
In my experience, having enough hours to rest and enough hours to be productive is very balancing. During the hours from 6-7 a.m., students can be productive and can have plenty of time to prepare for school. This balance supports both academic success and overall well-being, which is important for a student’s mental and emotional health.
