The 49ers medical tent is very busy this NFL season

The 49ers came into this season feeling good. After heartbreaking season enders in past years, some fans thought this would be the year. Their hopes and dreams were then crushed after player after player got season ending injuries in the opening weeks.

Brock Purdy, the 49ers underdog QB (the last pick in the draft and former third string QB), suffered from a turf toe injury in week four. Turf toe is when the muscles at the front of your foot tear, most commonly when your cleat gets stuck in or planted awkwardly in turf. Kyle Shanahan, 49ers head coach, said that Brock Purdy may start as a back-up for former rookie of the year Mac Jones, and start later on.

Fred Warner and Nick Bosa, the faces of the 49ers electric defense, have both been ruled out for the season after grueling injuries. Nick Bosa, a five-time Pro-bowler, tore his ACL in week three against the Arizona Cardinals. Fred Warner, 4 time Pro-bowler, fractured and dislocated his ankle after a teammate fell on him against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. These injuries have made a clear impact in the 49ers’ defense, and the league isn’t the same with their absence.

The 49ers have had 13 other injuries, including rookies, key parts of their offense, and most of their defense. The reason for all the injuries isn’t confirmed, but the most reasonable answer is their high speed and crucial practices, although it could just be terrible luck.

Even with all of these injuries, the 49ers’ future is looking bright. The rest of their schedule is fairly easy, which will give us time to heal up and get back the electric team we were looking at before the season.
