2025 NFL game between the Washington Commanders and Atlanta Falcons
As we reach the midway point of the season the NFL has been different, we haven’t had an undefeated team through week four since 2023.
The teams that have had high expectations are somewhat falling off. For example, the Chiefs were hoping to have a bounce back season after being humiliated by the Eagles in Super Bowl 59, but they are now 4-3 after an opening game loss to the chargers in São Paulo. The Eagles, 5-2, looked strong through week four but at some point in every game started failing to show up one quarter. They lost to the Denver Broncos in week four and then had a surprise loss to the New York Giants on Thursday Night Football.
The Baltimore Ravens, 1-5, are struggling with the loss of Lamar Jackson who has been sidelined since week four with a hamstring injury though he is rumored to play in week eight despite not practicing on this past Monday..
Another team looking for a strong year is the Washington Commanders, who are 3-3 after narrowly missing the Super Bowl during Jayden Daniels electric rookie season last year. They still hope to bounce back.
Another prominent player expected to return soon is Brock Purdy of the San Francisco 49ers. Finally, Jayden Daniels of the Washington Commanders was injured at Dallas with a hamstring injury after coming back briefly for two weeks. He now is most likely to be out for another 2-3 weeks.
There have been a lot of game winning field goals this season. There have been 12 so far, some have been in primetime, some have been chokes from teams that had a lead and gave up 33 points in the 4th quarter. Another important match was the Commanders versus Bears game on Thursday Night Football in week six where recently traded Jake Mody hit a game winner after the Commanders had three turnovers.
Week eight started with Thursday Night Football with the Chargers beating the Vikings 37-10. On Sunday a lot of the games start at 1:00 P.M. including the Dolphins v Falcons, Bears v Ravens, Jets v Bengals, Bills v Panthers, 49ers v Texans, Browns v Patriots, and the Giants v Eagles. Later in the day, the Buccaneers will take on the Saints, the Titans will play the Colts and the Broncos will take on the Cowboys. For Sunday Night Football, the Pittsburgh Steelers will host the Green Bay Packers. To round out the week Monday Night Football, will have the Chiefs host the Commanders.
