Matilda Conrad and Mary Katherine Binnie show off their posters for Earth Day.
Did you know that the first ever Earth Day took place on April 22, 1970? Well I didn’t! Here at H-B, on April 24th, we are celebrating Earth Day with activities around the school that are all tied into helping the environment.
The activities that are taking place are seed balls and pot painting in the atrium, maple syrup info at Yishek’s desk, an information table in the living room and wish tree in the living room, and The Lorax viewing in the library.
On April 24th, many people were down on the 1st floor creating crafts, learning about the earth, and having fun!
The activity that was the most popular was pot paintings. It was a fun way to turn a plain pot into a fun gift!
Keeley Gardner, a 7th grader here at H-B expressed how much fun she had painting pots and making seed balls to grow in her garden.
I hope you had fun celebrating and learning about our earth! Make sure to help our planet even when it’s not Earth Day. Come back next year to learn more and have fun!
