As we enter the seasonal academic recess, many people have various traditions for the holidays. We went around H-B and asked multiple people about what their winter break plans are.
Many people are traveling to see family, including Pavi Vinod Ghorpade, one of HB’s newest instructional assistants. Pavi is traveling up to Maryland to see family and is going to use the time to relax.
Also going to see family is George Boyle, a sophomore who is going to visit his grandparents in New Jersey. The new 6th grade gym teacher, Carrie-Ann Goodfellow, is visiting her family in upstate New York, while Jeffrey Burke, a 7th grader, is seeing his grandparents in Boston.
Among the small group of H-B community members we spoke to, traditions were a common theme. Carrie-Ann goes to church, opens up gifts and wears pajamas all day. George learns new recipes and goes to Chuck E. Cheese. Some people also have big events over winter break like Will Hjelm, a freshman, who will compete in a jiu-jitsu tournament.
H-B students and teachers have various traditions and celebrate many different holidays. The H-B Current team wishes you a happy winter break!
